In other waivers news today:

Reaves has a $1.35 million cap hit for this year and next, and would still count for $200,000 on the salary cap in the minors.

By waiving him now and having him clear tomorrow, he can be recalled to the Leafs, and then as a recalled player, he can be re-loaned to the AHL if cap space for a player returning from injury or coming up on recall is required.

Without some other move, the Leafs are still going to be using some LTIR pool tomorrow, I believe. I'm awaiting clarification on that point.
