Rich Clune had a couple of games with the Maple Leafs, but for the most part, he's spent his season on the Marlies. The nice thing for him is with both teams in the same city, he didn't have to go far; the nice thing for the Leafs organization is it looks like he's taking prospects under his wing - including William Nylander and Kasperi Kapanen.
Clune calls them "good kids" in his caption, and doesn't seem like he's wrong. The kids, for their parts, are referencing Clune, too:
Quote Kapanen: "So I found this gem in my locker today. I think I'll keep it," along with accompanying emojis because, well, he's 19. Pretty sweet gift for him!
Nylander, meanwhile, is a little small - so here's Clune working with him.
"Thanks Pappa Clune... watch out kappy."
Looks like Clune's formed his own little family down in the AHL, and it's awesome. This has the makings of the kind of thing when one day in the far off future, Clune is one of the guys Nylander and Kapanen give credit to for their success. Hopefully that's exactly what happens.
