First Period
If you missed the Kings game, this one had a live re-enactment of the goal review:

Brandon Carlo took a tripping call.
Matthews really had to work hard defensively last night. He still had more in the tank:

Nylander took a hooking penalty, and while the Ducks don't have a very good power play, even bad ones score sometimes. Last night was rife with "I lost the one-on-one battle" penalties, but that was vs Anze Kopitar, so there's no excuse for it tonight.
Leafs looked down and out in the last two minutes, hemmed in, relying on dump outs, and then they finally escape and... Max Domi with a good play, a good decision to shoot and a great goal.

After one is was 1-0 Leafs.

The Leafs with 38% Corsi and 46% Expected Goals. So in this period, the Leafs really did limit the quality of shots against.
Second Period
Some good net-front work by Domi drew a penalty early in the period.

The power play was good, and the Leafs followed up with some good chances after.

The role of William Nylander was being played by Mitch Marner:

Anaheim came right back with a goal of their own.

Scary close call:
wow Gauthier's skate blade comes up on Matthews

Radko Gudas took a holding call on Chris Tanev which is ... odd.
After two it was 2-1 Leafs. The Corsi was close – 53% to the Leafs. Expected Goals the same.

All-situations to account for all the power play time. The Ducks are still getting most of their good offence on the power play.
Third Period
The power play continued until Morgan Rielly ended up taking a penalty on a Ducks chance.

Matt Knies landed a clean hit on the boards, drew a scrum and took a penalty for his exuberance in meeting the complainers. Another Ducks power play.

Classic Lorentz goal! Weird, likely unrepeatable, but it happened because he's near the net.

The refs let some interference and an obvious penalty of OEL go.

Not the first time that's happened with this player. I'm getting a Michael Bunting vibe off of the refs attitude to OEL.
The Ducks pulled their best player – Lukas Dostal – and somehow the Leafs missed the ENG with a glorious chance.
Final score was 3-2 Leafs.

Lots of late pressure from the Ducks, but they didn't convert that to a win.
Next game is Wednesday at home vs Florida.
