First Period

This was a very Mika Zibanejad period.

After one is was one-all.

Going to go with Moneypuck tonight to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

I don't think the Leafs were very active here, but the Rangers were not all that hot either until the very end of the period. Leafs did very little of note with the puck.

Second Period

A very early goal by the Leafs was initially called no goal, but was clearly in.

In the last few seconds this inexplicable call was made, so the power play to the Rangers started the third period.

The Rangers got in one set play off the faceoff, but Stolarz had it.

After two it was 2-1 Leafs

The Maple Leafs bottom six were really struggling against the Rangers, which is why the shots so dramatically favoured the Rangers.

On the other hand, the scoring talent on the Rangers were some of the least effective players, hitting 50/50 with the Leafs top lines.

Third Period

The Rangers power play didn't help them, but once John Tavares drew a penalty, they got a shorthanded gift as Nick Robertson is completely penned in and just dumps the puck nowhere in particular.

Igor Shesterkin goes a wandering and pays for it.

Leafs PK was good, but maybe no more third-period lazy penalties.

Late in the third, the Rangers had double the Shots on Goal, but they don't look like a dangerous team. The Leafs don't look like a team that can control the puck, however.

Final score was 3-2 Leafs in a game where bare shot stats say they were massively outplayed.

One note: something happened to Oliver Ekman-Larsson and he did not play most of the third period.
