Following on the success of two other dormant series Chemmy and I have decided that in order to fill the gap in NHL news that we'll take a look at each of the current Leafs, possible Leafs on the Marlies, and prospects. We'll recap their performance last year, what we can expect from them, and how they can win our hearts (hint: signing the contract was a good first step...unless your name is Bryan McCabe Ian White). We have no idea how long of a series this will end up being or how consistent it will be but with two of us expect it to only be half as half-assed and twice as timely.

Jonas Frögren destroys everything within arms reach, and knees a guy in the stomach to be safe.

Hell yeah.

Contract Status (according to NHL Numbers)
$1.05M salary, $1.05M cap hit, UFA July 1, 2010, rumored. The NHL has cancelled Frogren's contract on the grounds that he's an entry level player. Frogren can play under the terms of his original contract until an arbitrator rules on the case.

Projected 2008-2009 role/team
Frogren probably doesn't make the opening day roster for the Leafs. That said, when Colaiacovo's glass bones explode while tying his shoes, Frogren looks like he's going to bring some hurt to the Leafs blue line.

Personally, I've thought for a while that the Leafs had too many defenders who are slick puck movers and not enough players who will just crush the opposing team's players. Finger and Frogren should add a little violence on the blue line. Bring it on.

After watching that video, how much do you like Jonas Frogren?
