Rasmus Sandin, as expected, has been loaned to Team Sweden for the World Junior Championships. The team is due to begin their camp in Sweden this week, and they will travel to the Czech Republic to begin the pre-tournament friendlies on December 19.
Final cuts will be made just prior to the WJC start in Trinec and Ostrava. Sweden begin in Trinec and open the competition on Boxing Day against Finland.
There is no danger of Sandin being cut from this team. Only an injury is going to stop him repeating an appearance for his country at the WJC.
Last year he had two goals and two assists in seven games, but Sweden did not medal. This is his chance to fix that. The tournament runs to January 5, and he will return to the Marlies shortly after that.
Rasmus Sandin on going to the World Junior Championship "Very excited. It's always very exciting to play with old friends and make new ones as well." #WorldJuniors
