Don't fret, Brian Burke & Co. have finally filed all the important qualifying offers. The likes of Cody Franson, Nikolai Kulemin, Matt Frattin, Ben Scrivens, Jussi Rynnas, and Korbinian Holzer have all been qualified. Cam Charron has the story:
The other Leafs assets that needed to be tendered qualifying offers other than Lashoff are Marcel Mueller and Mark Fraser. The Leafs needed to submit the offers by 5:00 p.m. yesterday to hold onto the players' RFA rights as they hit free agency on July 1st.
The other option as far as Nik Kulemin is concerned is for club-elected salary arbitration similar to what the Vancouver Canucks did with Mason Raymond this year. But nothing like that has been announced either.
Nonis appears to have confirmed to the Sun that at least six Leafs assets received qualifying offers. We'll see about the other three between now and July 1st, I'm guessing.
In other news, Mats Sundin is expected to be announced as a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer today. Anybody who ever doubted that this would happen is a jerk.
