Us
The Leafs had a chance with a lead and very little special teams play last night to play their top lines a little less. What happened is Auston Matthews played 23:19 and Mitch Marner played 21:49, both more than any defender.
The David Kämpf line played a little more than usual, and Zach Aston-Reese got some shifts on other lines as he had double the ice time of his partner Radim Zohorna.
Timothy Liljegren and Luke Schenn seemed to split the job of a single defender, neither of them is playing a locked-in role in these 11-7 games.
I made up some D pairs, which are likely wrong, and I guessed at the forward lines too!

The Game
Every game I think the same things. Play well enough to entertain, and maybe don't play Matthews 24 minutes. Sidestep the big hits, and don't block shots with your fingers.
Every day I bug you with this too because I really believe that we all can keep PPP going, but we need sustainable funding to do that.
