Philadelphia Flyers @ Toronto Maple Leafs
07:00 PM at Scotiabank Arena
Watch on: TSN4, NBCSP

The Leafs last game was away on March 22 against the Nashville Predators, which Toronto lost by a score of 5-2 in regulation. The Leafs have a record of 42-25-3 for a 0.621 Points %.

The Philadelphia Flyers last played away on March 23 against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Flyers lost by a score of 7-4 in regulation, and their current league record is 28-35-9 for a 0.451 Points %.

Them

The Flyers are nearly in the bad range by Corsi %, but they are so good at limiting quality against and getting okay quality for that their Expected Goals at five-on-five is very good at 53%.

The theme of this season is okay to good five-on-five play from teams well out of the playoffs.

The Flyers are second last in the east because their goaltending is so bad, it's actually impossible to overstate how awful it's been. They've given up 246 goals on 207 Expected Goals Against. That's the fifth best total Expected Goals Against in the NHL.

At second last, they are 10 points out of the last wild card spot in the east. Compare them to Thursday's opponent, the Sharks, who are last in the west and 34 points out of the last wild card spot.

The east and the west are not the same this season at all.

All of which means that the Flyers are not bad at everything and like every other team have to be taken seriously. Rasmus Ristolainen is out week-to-week, and lines are subject to change.

Us

David Kämpf seems to be back in and Pontus Holmberg out vs yesterday's lines. The defence is unchanged and sure seems to be a settled issue.

The only real questions for the remaining games is the format of the bottom six, and there is absolutely no reason why that needs to be carved in stone.
