Tonight is the night people.

Auston Matthews makes his debut in a Leafs sweater.

Marner, Nylander will also play.

And they get to take out all that pent up skill and magic they’ll have together out on some unsuspecting fourth string Habs goalie.

Oh it should be sweet.

The fourth game of the preseason is where we see line ups close to NHL quality, and tonight is no exception. Kadri, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, JVR, Bozak, Komarov will all be on the ice tonight. With Marlies camp coming up tomorrow, the camp size is slimming down, and by mid-week we should be down to only the NHLers, especially with the pre-season games over the Thanksgiving weekend.

After having an amazing time at the World Cup of Hockey, Auston Matthews is ready to wow Leafs fans on home ice, in a Maple Leafs uniform for the first time in his career. The only better time will come on October 15th, at the Maple Leafs home opener.

Potential lines:

Maple Leafs

Leo Komarov - Nazem Kadri - Milan Michalek
James van Reimsdyk - Tyler Bozak - Mitchell Marner
Zach Hyman - Auston Matthews - William Nylander
Matt Martin -Frederik Gauthier - Brooks Laich
Connor Brown

Martin Marincin - Morgan Rielly
Jake Gardiner - Connor Carrick
Matt Hunwick - Nikita Zaitsev
Rinat Valiev - Roman Polak

Jhonas Enroth
Garrett Sparks

Canadiens

The Maple Leafs record at this point is useless as most of the players from those games won’t be playing tonight. They’re last preseason game was an 8-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Last night the Canadiens defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in overtime (I think? The EOTP recap never mentioned the final score, lol).

This will be the chance for the possibly final roster for the Leafs to work together for the first time. Unfortunately, the real tests lie in the final pre-season games against the Red Wings later this week. Tonight is a get to know you game, a chance to feel out potential linemates, and nothing boosts confidence like destroying a lesser team.

Enjoy the game tonight and Go Leafs Go!
