After a day like this one's been, a distraction is welcome, and the SCF is here to provide one. In Game Five, the Sharks staved off elimination with spectacular performance by Martin Jones; now they need a follow-up to push the series to seven. The Penguins' relentless forward group remains one of the best shows on ice, so we can expect fireworks.
If the Pens close out the Sharks tonight, you can expect the Conn Smythe to go to one of goalie Matt Murray, centre Sidney Crosby, or bearded sex god Phil Kessel, possibly depending on which of the three looks the best tonight. If the Sharks turn the tables, it may well go to Jones. (Watch, now that I've said it Marleau's going to score five.) In the big picture, we're either looking at the second Cup of the Crosby era in Pittsburgh or the end of all those Shorks-choking narratives, once and for all.
Either way, buckle your seatbelts. The Cup is in the building.
