It's true that James Reimer has been playing well, and there are a handful of Leafs, such as Dion Phaneuf, Joffrey Lupul, or perhaps John-Michael Liles, that have also been contributing at a great pace. The good and bad news, however, is that the Leafs have been leaning heavily on the contributions of Phil Kessel to win games. Put Tyler Seguin in his place, and the Leafs are probably sporting a record of about 1-4. Let's hope he keeps the magic alive to help the Leafs past his old team.
In other news, Nazem Kadri will be joining the Leafs, following the injury to Colby Armstrong, after a very brief "stay" with the Toronto Marlies.
Jonas Gustavsson will be the starter tonight, so let's pray that he comes up with a good game. I think he still has a decent shot at redemption after last season, though I say that with the qualifier that "redemption" for him may be becoming a serviceable backup goaltender. He appears to be calm and confident going in:
Go Leafs Go.
