Fresh off winning a silver medal at the Pyeongchang Olympics, Canadian defender Jocelyne Larocque will be returning to her CWHL team this weekend. She will be in the lineup for Markham’s two-game series against Calgary, their last homestand of the season.

Larocque was an assistant captain for Team Canada in Pyeongchang, her second Olympic games—she won gold with Team Canada in Sochi. During the Olympics, she also played her 100th game for Team Canada at the senior level, receiving the golden helmet that the Team Canada women pass around to commemorate that milestone.

Larocque has been with the Thunder since her return from Sochi (she spent the 2012-13 season with Calgary). In 68 regular season games she has five goals and 11 assists with the team, and is currently team captain. Having her back is a boost to a Markham team that’s currently in a fight with the Vanke Rays for the final remaining playoff spot.
As of right now, there is no mention of Laura Stacey or Laura Fortino, Markham’s other Olympians (UPDATE: Fortino and Stacey will be dropping the puck and signing autographs at Saturday’s game). We’ll keep an eye out for news about them, along with the Toronto Furies’ Natalie Spooner and Renata Fast.
UPDATE: It seems that Spooner and Fast will attend Saturday's Furies game but don't appear to be playing.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🎉@natspooner5 & @RenataFast will be attending our game on Saturday, March 3rd VS. @BostonCWHL!
