It's not that I would concede this game in every situation, but this was looking pretty grim before the puck was dropped: the Sharks are a contender, who hadn't played since Saturday. The Leafs played the second half of a back to back, and the first game wasn't exactly a cakewalk. And what looked oddly promising five minutes in took a turn for the worse, as the Sharks owned the puck. I'd list the goals against, but they're depressing - here's the game in six, instead:
Sharks goal #1, defensive breakdown, open man in the hash marks (D-man pinching?)
Raymond-Gardiner, jumping into the rush is great.
Blown goal call (waved off) benefits Leafs - refs said the puck "was covered," which would've been the fastest "intent to blow" in history.
Thornton leans on Reimer's numbers, Reimer gets up, puck goes in. Ref waves it off, stops play (not interference, not a goal, why?) it goes to video review, is counted as a goal.
Clarkson with a w-r-a-p-a-r-o-u-n-d. Read it slowly, 'cause that's how Clarkson took it.
