At some point in the middle of the night last night the NHL and NHLPA came to an agreement on the CBA and the NHL Lockout is now officially over.

If you responded to the NHL lockout the same way most people did by crying yourself to sleep or encasing yourself in a concrete block in your backyard you might have missed what happened since we last joined our heroes. Without further ado:

LUKE "CEMENT SHOES" SCHENN PUSHED OVERBOARD BY JAMES van RIEMSDYK

Brian Burke shipped the former Leafs wunderkind to Philadelphia in a rug rolled up in the trunk of a Cadillac.

NEW CBA DECLARED "WACKY" BY ALL

As outlined here on Copper n Blue the new CBA includes a different revenue split between players and owners, the draft lottery now gives more teams a chance to win and draft 1st, 7 year contract limits (8 if the player played with you all of last season), two compliance buyouts that won't count against the cap after this season (because the cap plummets for next season), but otherwise the hard cap NHL landscape remains unchanged.

RFA-POCALYPSE COMMENCES SOON

Lots of teams didn't sign their RFAs before the lockout and will need to do so in a hurry. For the Leafs that means Cody Franson, though for the surprisingly cap strapped Montreal that means P.K. Subban. This will be fun watching since the Leafs are in decent shape.

TYLER BIGGS IS A CHAMPION

It's true, somehow.

BIG CHANGES COMING AT THE BLOG

Soon. Stay tuned, but for now it's GIF party time.

MATS SUNDIN INDUCTED INTO THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME

Mats gave a typically amazing induction speech while also scaring Bettman half to death with his glare. Some mittenstringers were not pleased with his selection which led to this frankly amazing video clip.
