The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded the 25th overall pick at the 2018 NHL Draft to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for picks #29 (1st round) and #76 (3rd round).
The Maple Leafs traded down in the draft with prospects like Joe Veleno, Akil Thomas, Jett Woo, and Cale Addison on the board.
They still have a first round pick, but now they’ve added another pick later on in the draft.
“I don’t know how I ended up as a trade-back guy.” - Kyle Dubas, on his draft strategy. Says they will always consider moving up, but that 2015 helped him get an idea for the draft. Happy they moved No. 24 to get Dermott and Bracco, but doesn’t mean they’ll move No. 25.
