Good morning!
Hope everyone in Canada has been enjoying their long weekend! Only one day left! Wait, that’s not a good thing...
Anyway, here are the links.
First up, my third day in a row talking about the Marlies weekend series against the Manitoba Moose. Pierre Engvall was good. Egor Korshkov was great. And Joseph Woll was perfect.

And that’s all on the Maple Leafs front. The Saturday game was a great example of what investing in smart depth can do to a team during a long season. Next games will be Tuesday at home to Minnesota and Wednesday in Washington.
Following Saturday’s “Headlines” segment, Chris Johnston put out his weekly “Beyond the Headlines” feature. Lots of dirt on the White House, the Penguins, and RFAs.

The Ottawa Senators might have great prospects, but the people in charge of them are yet to be created. There’s still no President of Hockey Operations so Eugene Melnyk is still in charge and making decisions.

Across the pond, 37-year-old soccer goalkeeper Petr Cech made his NIHL 2 debut with the Guildford Phoenix, winning the game in the shootout. For those who don’t know Cech, he’s the guy who wears a snoopy cap

This thread from Twitter’s Dan (who followed Cech extensively through his time with Chelsea) has a really crazy story about Cech growing up and his disability.
All that said, Cech, as a triplet, has comparatively thin bones - its why when Stephen Hunt kicked him in the head in 2005 he almost died, and why he wore a rugby scrum cap for the rest of his career. Love Big Pete, but I really hope he's not seriously trying to play hockey
