Morning, cool cats.  Waiver-evading offensive opportunist Josh Leivo is back on the Leafs’ roster, apparently leaving the Leafs with one too many players.  We don’t yet know who’s getting bumped to make room—the Leafs could place someone on injured reserve, demote one of three waiver-exempt wingers (Zach Hyman, Nikita Soshnikov or Connor Brown), or put one of their fringe players on waivers (probably Peter Holland, Ben Smith or Frank Corrado.)  We’ll let you know when we do.

New York Post: NHL Using Olympics To Play Hardball With The Players The league’s offer to tie Olympic participation to an extension of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is not popular with some players, who think they’re getting screwed under the current model.  The league has always been deft at pinning blame for work stoppages on the players, and this gambit seems aimed at doing the same thing should the NHLPA reject it.

Defending Big D: Dallas Stars Place Johnny Oduya On IR, Recall Julius Honka and Esa Lindell  Every year one team seems to get absolutely crushed by injuries, and this year Dallas is an early contender for that sad eminence.  On the upside, hotshot defence prospect Julius Honka is poised to get his first NHL action this week.
