The Maple Leafs goaltending situation is a right mess. According to today's transactions, the following things occurred:

By my reckoning, that makes the goaltender situation look like this through the weekend, unless something else happens:

If Saturday is Bernier's last game of his conditioning stint, then surely Rob Madore will be sent back to Orlando. Or -- and this is just my speculation -- Kyle Dubas saw how well Bernier's conditioning stint worked, and is willing to send Antoine Bibeau to Orlando instead of Rob Madore.

The Solar Bears have finally figured out what to do when the Maple Leafs goaltenders have issues, however. Instead of signing beloved EBUG Bobby Fowler, who has seen benchwarming action in two games so far, they've signed a third goaltender to a SPC.

Brandon Jaeger's normal job is backing up renown Columbus Cottonmouth goaltender Shannon Szabados. He comes well recommended to the Solar Bears, as the goaltender at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where Solar Bears coach Anthony Noreen began his coaching career.

Jaeger comes to Orlando to help with a long road trip. Solar Bears play a three-in-three, two games against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and one game against the Florida Everblades on Dec. 10, 11, and 12, and then end their trip with another three games at the Everblades and Greenville again for the second-longest road stretch of their schedule.
