Brad May

#10 / Left Wing / Toronto Maple Leafs

6-1

Nov 29, 1971

The grizzled veteran (take note Cox) will be playing in his 1000th game. As per the club's policy of being nice to everyone that has ever worn the Maple Leaf he'll likely get some sort of video and acknowledgement.

Probably the most important part to this game is the fact that ex-Sabre Brad May will play his 1,000th career game tonight.  May played 425 games with the Sabres before being traded in 1997.  Since then, May has played for five different teams.  Coach Ron Wilson sat May out of last night's game just so that he could be able to play his 1,000th game against his old mates.

That Burke is a classy fellow.

May will become the 21st player to hit 1000 games played in a Leafs uniform:

The following players suited up for their 1000th NHL game while playing for the Maple Leafs: Glenn Anderson, George Armstrong, Shayne Corson, Tie Domi, Ron Ellis, Tom Fitzgerald, Doug Gilmour, Tim Horton, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Jamie Macoun, Dave Manson, Marcel Pronovost, Gary Roberts, Borje Salming, Eddie Shack, Allan Stanley, Mats Sundin, Steve Thomas and Norm Ullman.

Brad May aside, the Leafs are in tough tonight. Too often this year they've given terrible efforts against the Sabres so Tavares considerations aside it would be nice to see them actually try against the team from the land of the moustaches.

Previous Meetings

It's especially disconcerting considering that Wilson has decided to throw Cujo (Old Yeller?) to the wolves.

The last time he faced the Sabres he gave up 4 goals on about 2 shots. I hope he'll recapture the magic in what will likely be his last appearance as a Maple Leaf in Toronto (barring a collapse on Saturday which is always possible).

Don't you wish the Sabres would move to a different division?

Yes - It would be nice to have a chance at these 12 points each year11
No - Then the Sabres would fold and where would fans go to see the Leafs? Ottawa? No thanks60
