Schenn might have "tugged at Superman's cape" but Kennedy strolled up to the soup kitchen and was promptly fed. That clip will obviously go in any review of this season. Actually, it might as well just be focused primarily on Luke Schenn.
Previous Meetings
Our friend FrankD at Pensburgh has been going through quite the perplexing season. He gets to watch two of the highest scoring players in the league but his team sits out of the playoffs:
How is it the Leafs are totally owning Pittsburgh this season? Sure, the Pens took the first meeting of the season but since then it's all been down hill. A 7-3 loss back in December, 5-4 disappointment two weeks ago; I can't wrap my head around this.
Especially considering the Pens rocked the Leafs in the preseason. /sarcasm.
Needless to say Pens fans are expecting a win tonight. After all, Pitt didn't beat the Sharks for nothing. There's a lot of talk going around Pitt that suggests the San Jose win is the start of a streak. Because you know, winning one game is really the first indication of a winning streak. Hell, Pitt can lose to you guys and win against the Islanders on Monday and it's technically a new streak all over again. Sigh.
I guess this one is for the season series, huh (eh)?. With any luck Pitt will pull out the win, even it up at two a piece and save themselves from embarrassment. If not, well bragging rights are yours until next season.
Well, like the Russians, we'll claim the season series on goal differential if we can. Actually, the fact that the Leafs could actually pull this off (of course, now they won't) against last year's Stanley Cup finalists just proves that...hockey can be strange.
So there you have it. Complete and utter confusion on both sides of the aisle. I imagine that Malkin will keep his head up tonight but it would be nice if OLAS would remind the Penguins that he will hit who he wants when he wants.
I think that would be Valentine gift enough for us.
