The only question now is which team signs Joe Thornton.
The Buffalo Sabres will be participating in a preseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Joe Thornton Community Centre in St. Thomas, Ontario on Wednesday, September 27 as part of Kraft Hockeyville celebrations.
West Lorne, Ontario, located about 40 minutes from St. Thomas, was Kraft Hockeyville's winning community for 2023.
Winning Kraft Hockeyville will help West Lorne Arena complete a range of upgrades including a new front entrance with more accessible larger doors, new dressing rooms to accommodate more players and an expanded warm room for families and fans. Each winning community receives $250,000 for arena upgrades.
I have no idea why they picked a place this far from the winning city, but okay.
As of now, Joe Thornton has the chance to sign a PTO with one of these teams and play a game in the arena named for him. Do it, Jumbo.
