The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Harvard commit John Fusco, a lefty defender out of Dexter Southfield Prep.
He has next to no games record, as his season in high school seems to have been less than 25 games played. He is going to be a teammate of Nick Abrusseze at Harvard, and they likely will attempt a season this year.
Fusco is listed at 5’11”, making him oversized for the Leafs late-round picks this season. And he just turned 19 this summer.
His father Mark played for a couple of seasons on the Whalers, and was also a Harvard alumnus.
That might be all we know about him until his NCAA career begins. Good luck to John Fusco, mystery man.
In the meantime, all we have is this:
John Fusco said he was in a Zoom class - he goes to Harvard! - at the time of his drafting, and they were going over a book and then he got a text the #Leafs had picked him and then Kyle Dubas called him and his heart dropped and I really want to know what book they were reading
