The Maple Leafs are re-signing Matt Murray to be the third goalie behind Joe Woll and Anthony Stolarz. Murray, who had surgery in the last offseason, played on game with the Marlies at the end of the season, so his actual playing ability is a total mystery.

This is a great zero-risk deal that could pay off big for everyone. I'm extremely pleased to see the Leafs put their medical department to work to help Murray rebuild his career. There is no downside.
