The Leafs beat the Lightning 5-2 last night with Anthony Stolarz in net for the win. As noted in my Marlies recap last week, there's the fun bit that both he and Vasilevskiy were picked in the same draft 12 years ago, only Vasy has appeared in about 370 more games than Stolarz since then. Maybe that gap is about to narrow!
Here's our recap of the game.
How about watching that very Knies goal one more time?
The Leafs game was actually the only game on the NHL schedule last night, as tonight the league is doing that annual hockey night thing where every single team is playing. The first of the 16 games starts at 6:30, then additional games go on the air in 15-30 minute increments through the night until the Kings and Golden Knights game starts at 11:00 ET. The Leafs will be in Columbus and their game once again starts at 7:30.
We'll have a preview out later this morning.
