Today, the Maple Leafs have announced Qualifying Offers for 2 of their five remaining unsigned RFAs. Teams have until 5 p.m. on October 7 to do that, but with the draft coming up, they’ll be a bit busy.
Ilya Mikheyev and Travis Dermott have received qualifying offers from the #leafs ahead of today's 5 p.m. ET deadline, as expected.

Mikheyev's camp expects to resume contract talks after the draft.
After draft day-one, Kyle Dubas confirmed that the Leafs will not issue a Qualifying Offer to Evan Rodrigues, acquired in the Kapanen trade.
All unqualified RFAs become free agents on Friday, and they can be signed by any team. So, in the case of Rodrigues, he may be interested in signing with the Leafs, once he sees what is out there.
Travis Dermott’s offer is a one-way at $874,125. Ilya Mikheyev’s is a two-way at $874,125.
Not mentioned so far are:
- Jeremy Bracco: two-way at $787,500
- Frederik Gauthier: two-way at $735,000
- Max Veronneau: two-way at $832,500/
We have to presume they weren’t qualified, and if that means the Gauthier era is over, I’m amazed.
UPDATE:
Yes, all four were in fact not qualified. Evan Rodrigues, Frederik Gauthier, Jeremy Bracco and Max Veronneau will all become free agents on October 9th.
