Every so often I get a pitch from someone who wants to give me data on how expensive tickets to the Maple Leafs are. They want me to write an article that uses their data to promote their service, which is hard not to see as a carefully designed tool to state the obvious. This would be like making a statistical model that managed to tell you Connor McDavid was good at hockey and not much else.

StubHub wanted us to do an article about their service, which is something you might actually be interested in ahead of the HHOF induction game against the Bruins (why, though?) which is a crucial game for the Leafs and a chance to see the inductees on the ice as well.

About that USD thing... Make sure you know what your credit card charges you in exchange. Sometimes the fees for a simple USD purchase are absurd, and you don’t even know it’s happening. StubHub takes PayPal, so if you have US dollars in your PayPal account, use those. But if all you have in there is Canadian dollars, you need to check their exchange rates. Buying stuff is a lot of work these days.

The Legends Game is on the ice as Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, November 17, and captains Mats Sundin and Nik Lidstrom lead their teams that include Wickenheiser, Marie-Philip Poulin, Jayna Hefford and lots of your Leafs favourites like Tomas Kaberle and Andrew Raycroft. There’s some new Leafs fans like Eric Lindros, and Lidstrom managed to get Igor Larionov to play too.

This is going to be a special event, and great weekend, and if you have faith, the Leafs might just stomp the Bruins after watching pros of that calibre be honoured.
