The Toronto Maple Leafs are a frustrating team. One night they lose 7-0 to the low-scoring New York Rangers and the next they win 5-2 over the Anaheim Ducks. Jean-Sebastien Giguere gave up a weak opener but held the game close with some big saves before the Leafs' offence, powered by Clarke MacArthur and Mikhail Grabovski, got going. Carl Gunnarsson scored again to take the team lead in goals by a defenceman which highlights how poorly the team has picked up offence from the back end.
Bobby Ryan, clearly thinking about the never ending trade rumours, made a nice set up for Grabbo to pick up his 19th of the year. A beauty rush by MacArthur and some excellent patience by the Pineapple Assassin saw him match his career high for goals with 20. Tyler Bozak and Colby Armstrong had a couple of great penalty killing shifts early in the second before the former blasted one past Jonas Hiller.
