The Toronto Maple Leafs went into Long Island and ran Jaroslav Halak and his teammates out of the rink during a 10 minute offensive explosion. Phil Kessel potted two nearly identical snap shots, Roman Polak picked up his first as a Maple Leaf, James Van Riemsdyk benefitted from a lucky bounce and David Clarkson floated one from almost the blueline.
All five goals went blocker side and Polak seemed to suggest that it was a deliberate game plan. Meanwhile, Jonathan Bernier racked up 34 saves including 17 in the third once the result was no longer in doubt to notch his first win of the season.
This is something new that I want to try out. Voting is supposed to go as follows:
If you think a player is ranked too high on the list, you vote them down. If you feel they're rated to low, vote them up. You can change your vote once, and you can wait to vote until things change.
For evaluation's sake, you can see the advanced stats here and the boxscore here.
