The Toronto Maple Leafs will make several announcements in a centennial season press conference on Thursday morning.

The Hockey Hall of Fame (HHOF) will host Brendan Shanahan and Leafs alumni Johnny Bower and Ron Ellis for a 10 a.m. press conference.

According to a team release, the press conference will be held in order to announce "a number of the events and initiatives that will take place during the team’s 2016-17 Centennial Anniversary season." The Leafs and the NHL have already announced plans to host the Centennial Classic outdoor game at BMO Field in Toronto against the Detroit Red Wings. The event will also feature an alumni game.

The announcement will also include the unveiling of the Leafs' Centennial Anniversary logo alongside the opening of a special HHOF exhibit commemorating the team's 100-year history.

In 2012, the Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) filed a trade-mark with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for the design of their centennial logo.

Below is the original trade-marked design from 2012, in black and white.

While the Leafs have since changed logos, making the then-trademarked logo effectively out-of-date, the design could resemble its initial form. At this year's draft, the Leafs unveiled their new jersey -- logo included.

What do you think of the design?
