The Leafs have made their first move of the 2015 NHL Draft, dropping from 24th overall to pick up the Philadelphia Flyers' late first round pick and the final selection of the second round at 61st overall.
The second round pick fills a slight void the Leafs had in this year's class, with another pick moments later at 65th overall.
Leafs assistant general manager Kyle Dubas made the move on the draft floor.
The Flyers used the 24th overall selection to take my 12th ranked prospect, Travis Konecny, of the Ottawa 67's.
The trade came after several of my top prospects fell, including Konecny, playmaking centre Nick Merkley, top QMJHL winger Daniel Sprong, high-flying Swedish defensemen Oliver Kylington and my No. 11 ranked prospect, defensemen Jeremy Roy still on the board.
