According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Leafs have signed Matt Hunwick to a two year deal valued at $2.4 million.
Hunwick, who registered 11 points in 55 games with the Rangers last season, will cary a $1.2 million cap hit.
The 30-year-old defensemen was taken in the seventh round of the 2004 NHL Draft.
In 347 career games, Hunwick has registered 18 goals and 60 assists for 78 points.
From a puck possession standpoint, Hunwick's performance in 2014-2015 was strong.

Hunwick has spent his career with the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers.
In an interview with the Leafs, Hunwick said the chance to work with Mike Babcock is what helped sway him.
"Coach Babcock obviously draws a lot of interest from a lot of players."
