And thus begins the long summer lull between free agency and the opening of rookie camp in mid-September. One cool tidbit gleaned from the Copper & Blue's 2009 Draft story on forward equivalencies:
Finally, Nazem Kadri had the best AHL season of anyone from this draft class, and as I mentioned earlier, that's an awfully tough league. That he was the team's second-leading scorer despite only playing in 44 games - and runaway leader in points per game - also lets you know that the Marlies weren't exactly bulging at the seams with offensive talent: yes, he's a little further down the list than you'd probably like, but it seems to me that he's still a high-quality prospect.
Kadri is certainly going to spend his NHL career on the wing, but he could still be a solid 50-60 point guy, possibly even better, for years to come. Links after the jump...
