In a press release this morning the Leafs announced a host of players have been reassigned to The Marlies as they work to finalize the roster before the deadline on Tuesday.

The following players have been assigned to the Marlies:

Antoine Bibeau, Connor Brown, Rich Clune, Zach Hyman, Kasperi Kapanen, Viktor Loov, William Nylander, Stuart Percy, Nikita Soshnikov, Garret Sparks and Rinat Valiev

Additionally the following players have been placed on waivers. If they clear tomorrow they will then also be assigned to the Marlies:

T.J. Brennan, Andrew Campbell, Sam Carrick, Matt Frattin and Byron Froese

Petter Granberg is injured and has been removed from the roster until he is cleared to return to play at which time he likely will be sent to the Marlies too.

This leaves 14 forwards, 8 defencemen, and 1 Reimernier on the roster, meaning we should watch for a final move today or tomorrow to bring it down to 23 players.

Scott Harrington is on a two-way contract and waiver exempt so he could be sent down to the Marlies. The Leafs could also find a trading partner for Roman Polak, or Stephane Robidas.

There is also a slim chance Lou could surprise us with a big trade that sends away a top forward on the roster like Joffrey Lupul.
