Last night we wanted both Carolina and Columbus to win and 1/2 is ok I guess. Let's look at our standings as we head into Maple Leafs game night:
Team | Points | Odds at #1 |
Buffalo | 44 | 20% |
Edmonton | 47 | 13.5% |
Arizona | 50 | 11.5% |
Carolina | 58 | 9.5% |
Toronto | 60 | 8.5% |
Columbus | 62 | 7.5% |
New Jersey | 67 | 6.5% |
Philadelphia | 70 | 6.0% |
Dallas | 72 | 5.0% |
Colorado | 73 | 3.5% |
Ottawa | 73 | 3.0% |
Florida | 74 | 2.5% |
San Jose | 76 | 2.0% |
Winnipeg + | 78 | 1.0% |
Welcome to the lottery Winnipeg! All the bottom teams gained points, and that gap between us and Columbus is bigger and that's great. Carolina needs to pick up its socks and start winning some games.
Dallas Stars at Washington Capitals
Best Result: Dallas wins
Nothing too applicable here, but in case the Leafs decide to go on a win streak to end the season, we want these lower lottery teams to pick up points.
Edmonton Oilers at Columbus Blue Jackets
Best Result: Edmonton over Columbus in OT
This is one we need to be a 3 pointer. Edmonton wins, gets closer to dropping out of 2nd place, and Columbus makes that gap 1 point bigger.
Ottawa Senators at New York Islanders
Best Result: Ottawa wins
Same as the Dallas/DC game. Keep that line between 5th and 6th as wide as possible.
Anaheim Ducks at Minnesota Wild
Best Result: Anaheim wins
It's all about keeping Nashvilles 1st rounder down
Toronto Maple Leafs at Calgary Flames
Best Result: Calgary in Regulation
We can't lose anymore ground to Carolina for 4th. Someone slash Phil's tires so he misses the team plane.
Another important night. Go Oilers, Flames, and Blue Jackets!
