Seven years ago the Battle of Ontario had two teams loaded up for Cup runs going at it tooth and nail. In the Leafs' first game of 2011 the Battle of Ontario has two teams with fanbases acheing to draft first overall wondering why this game is being shown on TV instead of the Winter Classic.
Our 2011 resolution should be to see through the nonsense the Leafs front office has said to us. This isn't a team that's one or two pieces away from growing into a contender. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy the progress players like Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin are making.
The 2010-2011 season started for us with a bang and most of us are wishing someone would put it out of its misery. Personally I'm past hoping this team makes the playoffs and just want to see entertaining hockey. Win, lose, as long as the team shows up to play I'll take it.
John Mitchell and Brett Lebda are healthy scratches. Happy 2011!
