Toronto Maple Leafs 2nd round pick, 50th overall in the 2009 draft has decided to leave Boston College and will now join the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League.

Kenny Ryan was part of this past summer's draft class and at the draft he was pretty adamant about his intention to go to Boston College and be part of the Eagles. This move comes as a complete surprise to BC's hockey team:
"This came as a complete surprise to us," said head coach Jerry York, whose team opens up regular season play on Sunday at Vermont. "There were no indications at all in advance, but he’s made the decision to go play for Windsor."
He's currently the Leafs' 7th ranked prospect according to Hockey's Future and he'll be joining the defending Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires where he'll skate along fellow Leafs' draftee Jesse Blacker who was chosen 58th overall in Montreal. Kenny Ryan was also the subject of one of the funniest moments that I experienced at the actual draft this summer when Jerry D'Amigo had no idea who "Ken Ryan" was as Paul Hendrick panicked that he had been given incorrect information.
Update: Norman James says that things will be completed on Monday. There's just some details to iron out with the OHL.
