In other news, Ron Wilson is going a little crazy:
"Right now, I think the Monster gives us as good a chance to win (as James Reimer does)," coach Ron Wilson said after Leafs' practice on Wednesday.
"As long as he is winning, he is going to keep playing. If Reims goes in there and he gets hot, he is going to play. We need to win games."
As per James Mirtle, expect the Leafs' lines to look just as they did against Tampa. As a side note, doesn't it feel nice to have some actual depth to this team? The Leafs have several players that can now (more or less adequately) fill the third line center position. Matthew Lombardi seems the most likely candidate tonight, but it wouldn't be terrible to throw Nazem Kadri in there in a pinch. Oh, and then of course, there's David Steckel, who has been a third and fourth line tweener all year because of his skill on the dot.
Although it's already been pointed out, the Jets are coming off a 7-3 loss, and the Leafs are coming off a 7-3 win. This might have some people worried, but the truth is, teams that get blown out don't actually come back and win with any greater frequency than normal. In fact, given the Jets' poor road record (5-9-4), and the Leafs' relatively good home record (9-5-4), I'd give the Buds the edge in this one.
Go Leafs Go!
