Say goodbye to Jay Rosehill. He is returning to the AHL champion Norfolk Admirals after 72 games in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs (a damning stat if I've ever seen one) and racked up two goals and three assists while a bud. From the official press release:
Norfolk Admirals Assistant General Manager Bob Ferguson today announced that the Admirals have signed forward Jay Rosehill to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). The contract is valid for as many as 25 regular season games.
He may not necessarily stick because of the influx of NHLers and prospects (no doubt a reason he is no longer a Marlie) and he may not have done more for Leafs fans than be a guy that tried really hard while being clearly subpar but he will leave us with one of the greatest anecdotes ever told:
Rosehill had a funny story last year about how some rinks wouldn't let him in the building. He never received his proper NHL ID card.

No, that's not it. This is it:
Admirals defenseman Jay D. Rosehill was arrested Friday and charged with stealing a car while his team was on the road.
Rosehill, 22, was released on bond from the Broome County Jail on a felony charge of third-degree grand larceny, the Press & Sun-Bulletin newspaper of Bunghamton reported. His release came shortly before the Admirals played the Senators.
The Broome County Sheriff's Office said a vehicle had been reported stolen from the parking lot of Madame Oar's, a Binghamton strip club.
A club employee said she had started the car and left it to warm up when it was taken.
Shortly after the report was made, about 1:25 a.m., a deputy spotted the car pulling into the parking lot of the Xhibition Gentlemen's Club.
The deputy said he saw a man, later identified as Rosehill, run from the car, the Press & Sun-Bulletin reported.
This story is hilarious on the surface but when you see where these two establishments are located in Binghamton it really goes off the charts.
In case you cannot click on the larger version, Madame Oar's is a thirteen second drive and four minute walk from Xhibition Gentlemen's Club. Thanks to The Score's greatest acquisition @Archizuber for finding the original story.
