In the third period of the Leafs vs Devils game, Ilya Mikheyev was hurt when a skate made contact with wrist accidentally.
Leafs forward Ilya Mikheyev suffered a significant laceration to his wrist and is being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and assessment.

On the New Jersey broadcast, they showed a replay that clearly indicated Mikheyev was bleeding immediately after contact with Jesper Bratt’s skate.

UPDATE:
The Maple Leafs have confirmed Mikheyev’s agent’s report. He is currently still in New Jersey hospital.
Ilya Mikheyev of the Toronto Maple Leafs has had a successful surgery to repair an artery and tendons in his wrist. He is expected to make a full recovery but a more accurate timeline for his return will be provided in 90 days.
