Vince Williams had a fair record in his two years as head coach of the Orlando Solar Bears. In 2013-14, he led the team to the playoffs with a record of 43-24-5 (91 points), and this season with 37-25-10 (84 points). In each playoff appearance, the Solar Bears made a first-round exit.

The press release on the Solar Bears website reads:

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced today that Head Coach Vince Williams will not return for the 2015-2016 season. Williams coached the team to a combined regular season record of 80-49-15 (37-25-10 for 84 points in 2014-15 and 43-24-5 for 91 points in 2013-14) and led the Solar Bears to two straight playoff appearances.

"Vince was part of the Solar Bears family long before we came out of hibernation in 2011," said Solar Bears President/CEO, Jason Siegel. "We've taken a lot of positive steps and these are hard decisions that have to be made as we progress as an organization. He will always be well thought of, respected, and when we look back, he'll have played a significant role in the re-launch of the franchise."

The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
