Okay, so Brendan Shanahan never actually played a game for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's a local boy who bounced around elsewhere through the east, at least until later in life when he finally joined his hometown team as its president.
It's almost been two years since then, but the Leafs, slowly but surely, look to be on the mend. There's still a ways to go yet, but Toronto looks poised for the future with new front office personnel, Mike Babcock, and, of course, various high draft picks - and some of that turnaround started with Shanahan.
But that's not what this is about. This is about Shanahan turning 47 years old today - and his old team, Mimico Lacrosse, using it as an excuse to post pictures of him as a kid.
Happy Birthday @brendanshanahan! Can you find #Shanny in this picture? pic.twitter.com/ATfyFItsLQ

Hmm...
... that's him in the back row! Did you know our Tyke MVP award is named after @brendanshanahan? pic.twitter.com/hlmtY7vfoG

Oh man. You can definitely tell that's him, though the wilder curls really are a nice touch.
A very happy birthday to that kid in the picture, and his current incarnation as executive of the Leafs. Here's to a great year!
