The Orlando Solar Bears and The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliates of the Maple Leafs and Canadiens, will face off for the first time ever this weekend. To mark the occasion, we made a friendly wager with our blog rivals at Eyes on The Prize.
And we're going to win.
The Solar Bears are on a hot streak heading into this weekend, winning two of three games against The Manchester Monarchs, one of the best teams in the ECHL. The Beast, on the other hand, have one of the worst records in the ECHL. Their chances of winning any games here are about as high as an anglophone being hired to replace Michel Therrien when he's fired at the end of this season.
The Solar Bears will play Thursday and Friday night, and Sunday afternoon. Whichever blogs' team reaches two wins first will have to adopt the others' logo on Twitter. I'm really looking forward to the Bic Mac loving Canadiens fans waking up to EOTP endorsing PPP on Monday. I am not looking forward to the hockey playing cyclops on our Twitter account. You better win this, Bears!
We should really win by default because of Shades. Is there any better hockey mascot than a polar bear who has taken up residence in Florida?
