The Toronto Maple Leafs are 5-5-0 in their last 10 and have slipped to 9th in the standings. They've recently dropped three games to provincial 'rivals' Ottawa and two temas in disarray in Montreal and Buffalo. So it comes as no surprise that tensions are rising in the Buds' camp.
But who could imagine that it would be these two?
The National Post's Michael Traikos has the blow-by-blow:
The players had been doing a cycling drill, when Crabb and Gunnarsson started battling for position in front of the net. Things got heated. The gloves came off. And Crabb landed maybe two punches to Gunnarsson’s face before coaches stepped in a broke it up.
Crabb and Gunnarsson have done an admirable job hiding their shared parentage but of late it's slipped out. First, Crabb's highlight reel goal against the Minnesota Wild belied his Swedish heritage moreso that his pseudo Alaskan background. Then today, he allowed this quote get out:
"We’re good buddies off the ice. It might have just been a little we look too much alike, so a little brotherly quarrel."
Oh sure, it's all just a coincidence Joey. Carl does his part in shielding his respect for his elder half-brother by joking about his own visage:
"Don’t want to ruin a good-looking face."
We'll keep an eye on this developing story and eagerly await TSN releasing the video so that we can examine it further.
