Last night we saw the Leafs completely dominate the Senators, their only goal coming when Mike Komisarek and Francois Beauchemin decided to hand Ottawa their second lengthy five on three. The positive is that maybe this convinces Ottawa to keep Sergei Gonchar who is clearly past his sell by date.
I wrote about James Reimer's debut last night at The Leafs Nation:
Reimer played a very technical game last night. He didn't make any sprawling saves because he didn't have to. In that sense he's a very "Allaire" goalie in the vein of J.S. Giguere before he turned 200 and forgot where the top of the crease was. Reimer played big in the net all night and let pucks come to him.
maplestirup looks at the Versteeg trade rumors Lebrun started last night:
When Pierre Lebrun mentioned on Hockey Night in Canada that Brian Burke had received a solid offer for Kris Versteeg recently, you could feel the foundation of Leafs Nation rocking beneath your feet.
Much to the chagrin of the rumor-crazed folks throughout the hockey world, Burke declined.
