Editor's Note: One of the strengths of this site aside from Chemmy's funny faces, my squishy cheeks, MF37's rampant pessimism, and SkinnyFish's satiny beard is the community. Whenever a void has opened up there has beensomeone eager to step in to help ensure that this remains the best Leafs community on the internet. Our latest addition is JP Nikota.

For those who don't know me, my name is JP Nikota and I'm the latest addition to the PPP team [Editor's Note: I just said that]. I'll be helping out a bit around the site doing these 'From The Branches' posts, and maybe pitching in with the odd Game Day Thread. Yes, I currently reside in Vietnam (I'm working here as an English teacher), but still manage to wake up for every game possible. I have to work every weekend, so I can never see the HNIC games, but I'm usually in the Game Day Threads, cheering from one of the most distant peanut galleries possible. See you there tonight.

Many of today's links focus on the second-biggest piece of news to emerge from the Leafs' game against Nashville (second to the win, naturally), the injury to J.S. Giguère, and the impact it is having on other goaltenders in the Leaf system.

From Mirtle, confirming what he posted earlier on Twitter:

Toronto Maple Leafs netminder Jean-Sébastien Giguère, who left their game Tuesday with a groin strain in the third period, will miss the next one to two weeks with the injury. Toronto recalled James Reimer from the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday morning to take his place.

Backup Jonas Gustavsson will start against the New Jersey Devils and Martin Brodeur on Thursday at the Air Canada Centre.
