Braden Holtby has been so bad this season. So bad, he’s worse than Micheal Hutchinson and Frederik Andersen. Because the Capitals have a prospect ready to get his feet wet, they have a goalie controversy, which is different from goalie despair... okay, no, they’re the same. Everyone has firm and strong opinions on which goalie should play when and why and how, and they’ll yell them at you if you stop long enough to listen.
Tell no one, but their prospect, Ilya Samsonov, hasn’t been a hell of a lot better than the other three goalies in this game. It’s more fun when Ilya Mikheyev scores on the other Ilya though.

Given all the angst in net, I’m predicting an absolute flood of goals tonight. Everyone is going to fix their scoring stats in one game.
Who’s getting their first goal of the season tonight?
Carl Hagelin | 0 |
Tyson Barrie | 15 |
Brendan Leipsic | 8 |
Travis Dermott | 8 |
Why not a goalie? | 7 |
