Tonight the Leafs play the Calgary Flames in a game that starts at 9:30 because of the NHL’s eastern bias. The game is on Sportsnet West, Sportsnet F.... hmmmm .... I have no idea what that is, do the Flames have their own channel? TSN4 is where you find the homer Ontario take on the game.
The Flames announced this afternoon that Jacob Markstrom is in net, and be honest, would you notice who else is playing? Did you realize Josh Leivo was pressboxed again last night?
On the side of the ice that matters, the Leafs have the choice of three of Jack Campbell, Veini Vehvilainen and Michael Hutchinson. The extra forward is still listed Adam Brooks, but he isn’t playing. And once again Timothy Liljegren has been given the cachet of an NHL defender by going on this trip without ever ruining it by actually playing.
The Leafs left it late, but they have confirmed Campbell is the starter:

Sheldon Keefe confirms Campbell will play tonight in Calgary @TSN_Edge
Jack is looking for a 9th straight victory, which would tie Felix Potvin ('93-94), Jacques Plante ('70-71) & John Ross Roach ('25) for longest win streak in Leafs history, per @PR_NHL
The Leafs can get regulation win number 20 tonight if Campbell gets his ninth victory. That would move them into fourth in the NHL by that measure, but they’d still be second in the North division to Edmonton.
Go Leafs Go!
