SBN: EYES ON THE PRIZE
The Maple Leafs arrive in Montreal to play spoiler to the Canadiens streak to start the season, but also to protect their own record. The Maple Leafs own the record for season opening win streak with 10 in a row. We can't let a bunch of poutine eaters come and take what is ours!
These two teams opened the season against each other. The Habs opened the game with a dribbler of a goal that was both disappointing and, well, yeah thats how we started our season. It was a close back and forth game but the Canadiens took it 2-1.
The Maple Leafs aren't playing awful, their systems are tightening up, and it's a learning period with a new coach in net. The last game in Buffalo was also a close one with Evander Kane tying things up at the last second to send the game to OT, then a shootout, which the Sabres won.
