Good morning Toronto Maple Leafs fans!
While there are other hockey tournaments going on, the Stanley Calder somethingorother, we have just one more trophy that matters to be awarded: The Memorial Cup.
Now why is this more important? Easily: It involves the Maple Leafs.
Leafs top prospect Easton Cowan and the Ontario Hockey League Champion London Knights will face off Memorial Cup host Saginaw Spirit.
The two teams are familiar with each other as they faced off in the OHL Western Conference Finals this year, with London win ing the series 4-2.
The Knights went 3-0 in the round robin securing a bye to the final game, where the Spirit were 2-1, losing to London 4-2 on Wednesday night.
On Friday night the Spirit easily defeated the WHL Champion Moose Jaw Warriors 7-1 and the crowd got cocky.
The Championship game is Sunday night at 7:30PM.
For the less important series, last night the Edmonton Oilers took a 3-2 series lead, and are one more win away from the Stanley Cup Final. Please save us, Dallas.
Saturday night the New York Rangers try to stay alive as they are down 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Florida Panthers. You can catch that game at 8PM.
Sunday night is game six between Dallas and Edmonton at 8PM.
Okay, but, do they taste like licorice?
Hear from Noah Chadwick, who is a Maple Leafs prospect.
Oh we're getting big into the draft now.
Our team didn't win but it's hard to not be happy with this season.
Finally, a possible lead on a Growlers replacement for an ECHL affiliate?
With the Rangers partnering with the new Bloomington team, this leaves the Cincinnati Cyclones without an affiliate.
Could some prospects be headed to the Midwest soon?
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
